About Us

Ho community is based on its language. But, it’s true that these days we are forgetting our history, language, literature and heritage. These are now lived only among the intellectuals and language lovers. While speaking in our own language we are talking the help of other dominant languages of the region, but it’s difficult to purely speak in our own language. In our own areas and villages, we are speaking with a language other than our own language. Most of the Speakers of Ho community speaks languages other than Ho. People of Ho community itself feel that there is no future of Ho language any more.

In the past there are several movements undergone to revive and protect the Ho culture and traditions. Ho community has its own script, Warang Chiti. Its script has been developed by an intellectual and researcher “Kol.Lako Bodra”. Lako Bodra, a linguist and a social activist has developed Warang Chiti along with other members of Ho community. His love for Ho language had inspired him to develop a script for Ho, which could be used to write Ho. A famous linguist, Anderson has said “If a language dies, the entire community speaking that language dies”.

Here in this website with the help of members of the Ho community, several linguists and social peoples has undergone several hard ships to expand the use of Ho writing system. Through this website a large number of information has been put inside to make the visitors acquainted towards writing and use of Ho language in the real world. With the help of this website one can download Ho fonts, write in ho, prepare word files, make presentations, banners, pamphlets, prepare several types of books, e-books, pdf files etc. Also, we have provided useful website links related to ho language so that one can get other types of articles and useful information.

Our Mission

Our mission is to spread Ho language and its beauty to the world through this website. Learning a language needs lots of resources, a teacher, a group of books, a dictionary to learn its vocabulary and meanings of words. Similarly, learning Ho language is also a bigger task which takes one a couple of years to learn when one is away from home or the place apart from where the language is spoken and taught.
